ATTOCK, Dec 25: Police have seized a huge cache of hashish from a couple, here on Tuesday.

The district police headquarters informed that on the tip off from a source about drugs being smuggled from Khyber Paktunkhawa to Punjab via Attock, barriers were drawn at different areas on the main GT road of Attock to intercept the smuggled drugs.

Police intercepted a suspicious car, near Burhan Interchange and recovered 61kg of hashish while conducting its search.

The drug smugglers, residents of Lahore, were arrested and a case was registered against them.

Further investigation is underway.

The district Police officer (DPO), Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, has awarded a cash prize and a certificate appreciating the performance of the raiding police party.

Also, the DPO awarded a cash prize of Rs10,000 to head constable Khurram and constable Majid on recovery of a stolen dagger from the possession of an outlaw, near Hattian Police post on the main GT road of Hazro Police station.
