KARACHI, Dec 9: Javeria Mirza of Pakistan continued her wonderful run at the seventh World Youth Scrabble Championship (WYSC) being played at Birmingham, England.

According to the information received here, Javeria regained the top slot after two games in the morning before falling to the fourth position at the end of the day.

The remarkable thing about Javeria’s performance was that she never dropped out of the top 10 position throughout the tournament.

Meanwhile, the other Javeria is the Pakistan youth team, Javeria Salman, made a strong comeback on the second day climbing to the eighth position. Mohammad Inshal is placed at 14th and Yash Gandhi on 18th.

William Kang of Malaysia playing his last WYSC is currently leading with 15 wins.

The Pakistan team is currently at fourth with Malaysia, USA and Australia are on the first, second and third, respectively.

In the adjacent tournament for adults Pakistan’s Tariq Pervez is now placed second. Tariq played a tied match with the top-seeded player Alastair Richards of Australia.
