ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan said on Wednesday that all the persons mentioned in the Supreme Court verdict as having taken funds from the ISI should keep away from politics till they were cleared after an investigation.

He called upon the Election Commission not to allow those politicians to take part in the upcoming election and said such a restraining order should be valid till the outcome of an inquiry by the FIA into the funds the ISI used in the 1990 elections.

Speaking at a press conference at the PTI’s secretariat, he said the FIA chief should directly work under the supervision of the Supreme Court on the issue.

Mr Khan said the FIA should have started an inquiry against Nawaz Sharif several days ago but the government, he claimed, was not ready to launch the probe.

Mr Khan demanded an inquiry into the murder of Justice Munir.
