Man kills sister

CHAKWAL, Nov 12: A brother shot his sister dead in Gahi village of tehsil Kallar Kahar on Monday morning apparently over a petty issue.

According to police, Samreen Zahra, 18, after waking up in the morning went to the water pump installed in the courtyard of her home to wash her face.

As she reached there, her elder brother Kashif Abbas, 20, also came and insisted to wash his face first.

But Samreen refused to vacate the place saying since she reached the pump first, it was her right to use the facility.

As the verbal clash got harsh, Kashif got furious and rushed to his room and came out with a pistol and shot her, killing her on the spot. After committing the murder Kashif escaped.

Police shifted the body of Samreen to District Head-quarters Hospital for autopsy.

“Samreen received six bullets, which killed her on the spot,” Investigation Officer Sabir Khan told Dawn. —Correspondent
