Passengers robbed

NAWABSHAH, Nov 12: A gang of bandits robbed bus passengers of valuables and cash on the National Highway near Qazi Ahmed, 35 kilometres from here, on Monday.

The bandits forced at gunpoint a Punjab-bound bus to stop, overpowered the driver and passengers and easily made away with cash, mobile phones and other valuables they had robbed of them.

Enraged, the passengers blocked the highway and chanted slogans against police, calling for immediate arrest of culprits and return of their valuables.

Soon afterwards, police reached there and persuaded the passengers to end the blockade on assurance that their valuables would be recovered.—BoC
