KARACHI, Oct 24: The National Bank of Pakistan announced on Wednesday that for account-holders and old pensioners, a centralised web portal has been created which has made EOBI pension payment process fully automated. Pension is now disbursed quickly as the branch dealing officer will have a ready access to the centralised database of EOBI pensioners to enter the claim number (given by EOBI) for tracing, verifying and making recording of pension payment into the system, said a press release of the Bank.

In case rates of pension are revised, the system has the ability to calculate accurately the payable arrears and make payment accordingly. The system will also facilitate transfer of pensions from one branch to another. “Taking a step further, another milestone has been achieved by the NBP by developing “Direct Account Credit Module” for facilitating pensioners who opt for taking pension directly to their accounts said”.
