Policeman shot dead

MIRPURKHAS, Oct 17: A sub-inspector of the Mirpurkhas police was shot dead outside his living quarters behind the town police station on Wednesday.

Report said armed men reached the quarters of Chetan Lal Kolhi, sub-inspector and official in charge of the 15 emergency police centre of Mirpurkhas, and knocked at the door. They opened fire on him as soon as he came out and left him seriously wounded.

The sub-inspector was rushed to the civil hospital, but he could not survive.

The killing spread panic in the city.  The body was handed over to the victim’s heirs after a post-mortem examination.

The body was taken to his native village near Ratanabad for funeral.

No murder case was lodged with the town police station till the filing of this news. Police suspected old enmity to be the motive for the murder.—BoC
