Smart TV connectivity

I AM a PTCL customer having access to its Internet and Smart TV connectivity. Continued interruptions in service over the past one month and the PTCL’s failure to resolve the problem have greatly frustrated me.

Even though an octogenarian I use the Internet for a good number of hours daily to read books on Amazon’s Kindle, besides remaining in touch with the world. For more than a month, I have been making complaints at the PTCL on 1218 which can be verified from the recordings they make. It is a great fatigue for an old man to try to lodge a complaint on phone repeatedly, because it needs patience to hold on for long hearing audio ads.

Ultimately when in touch with the operator, one has to undergo the ordeal of oft-repeated queries. Holding my mobile in right hand as my left hand is deficient, I also carried out the exercises on computer as directed by the operator.

After conducting such exercises I was told that either the problem would be resolved within the next 36 to 48 hours or their technician would be visiting us. Neither was done.

Smart TV does not work if the Internet is dysfunctional. Now there is no option left for me except to consider switching over to another company. Out of several complaints I have lodged, the latest one was 055694.

Nearly same happening with me here in Faisalabad. in past 1 month I lodged number of complaints but of little or no use. I have 1 Mb connection but my downloading speed is about 50 kb that is often disconnected I am preparing for my exams, if internet remain dysfunctional further it will definitely tell upon my final exam.

PTCL is seriously devoted to setting new lows in customer service. My phone line has been dead for for over 1 month, and despite several complaints made on PTCL helpline and the DHA Phase II Exchange, PTCL has obstinately stuck to its stance of not resolving the problem. Even complaints made to PTA have gone unheeded. Previously their CSRs used to give 6 or 7 digit complaint numbers, now they either don't tell me the complaint number or just give 2 digits to be ambiguous. It's sad to see such a sorry state of affairs in what used to be a great organization just 3 or 4 years back.

My PTCL Landline phone is one-way. I.e. there is no ring tone and we cannot dial a number. On the incoming call the person dialing hears the beep but we cannot hear it. Still after 5 days nothing has been done to resolve the issue. I have been given complaint No. 03. Kindly look into the matter.

EXACTLY.... same problem... On every Friday, my internet and IPTV goes down... and Till Monday, i find no body , No complaint system work. I have to go to exchange and I Literally have to BEG them(On Monday they listen) and then they fix it, And then Its goes dead again on Friday. I am SICK of their services. THE worst service provider i have ever seen!

This problem is shared by many of us. PTCL is just current government - only promises and zero delivery ! Changing connection I see the only way.

All of a sudden there is no coverage of the BPL, no football matches on Smart TV.

Every organization owned by the government is useless as far as the service is concerned.I divorced the PTCL 9 years ago and went for the private ISP to be able to sleep peacefully.

Had the exact same experience. When we ordered their Smart TV and internet they arrived the very next day. It worked for maybe 10 days then stopped. We complained repeatedly and absolutely nothing happened for 3 weeks. We then switched to Nayatel and so far no problems at all. Clearly the priority of PTCL is to get (read: trap) new customers and they don't care about providing service to existing customers since they know most people would not switch to a different company after having paid for the TV box and Nayatel installation charges are more expensive (although it is more cost efficient if there are multiple TVs).
