LAHORE, Aug 31: Entrance test for admission to public and private medical and dental colleges in Punjab for 2012-13 will be held on Sept 23 simultaneously at 20 locations in 12 cities of the province.

According to a handout issued here on Friday, more than 35,000 candidates are expected to appear in the entrance test and the University of Health Sciences has made elaborate arrangements for this purpose.

UHS Vice-Chancellor Prof I.A. Naveed, who is also the chairman of the admission board, said the entrance test would be held in Bahawalpur, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan and Dera Ghazi Khan in southern Punjab, and Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala and Sargodha in central Punjab, and Rawalpindi and Hassan Abdal in northern Punjab.

He said the university administration had been making strenuous efforts for two months for conducting the test in a fair and transparent manner as per the policy of the Punjab government.

He said the cooperation of the local administration and police would also be available in each district for the smooth conduct of the entrance test.

The VC said the process of holding orientation seminars for students and their parents had also been completed. — Staff Reporter
