LAHORE, Aug 17: The Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf vows not to accept the interim government without formally consulting the party.

The announcement came at a press conference by PTI Senior Vice-Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi here on Friday.

Several ticket-holders of the PPP, the PML-N and the PML-Q as well as former nazims from Gujrat district led by Chaudhry Mubasher, a cousin of Q League President Chaudhry Shujaat, also joined the PTI on the occasion.

“We’ll not allow the (present) rulers to strike a deal with each other on the caretaker set-up as we’ll reject the interim government formed without taking us on board,” Qureshi warned.

Referring to the ongoing tussle between the judiciary and the PPP government, he said despite ineptness of the PPP leadership both the judiciary and the armed forces had observed restraint.

He said a confusion exited between the PPP and its legal team regarding writing to the Swiss authorities.

Criticizing Yousuf Raza Gilani’s statement that the executive order he issued as former prime minister for restoring the Supreme Court judges back in 2009 is yet to be endorsed by the parliament, the PTI leader said the statement is against democracy.

Qureshi claimed that PPP stood divided and the divisions would surface close to the elections as many party leaders, including Ahmed Mukhtar, Qamaruz Zaman Kaira and Gazanfar Gul, were against PPP-Q League alliance.

He said the incumbent government had failed at each front and early polls were the only solution to the problems facing the country.

About the PTI position in south Punjab, he claimed that under the leadership of Imran Khan they were leading the political race in the region. He alleged that both the PPP and the PML-N were playing political gimmicks on the creation of the new province.

Ahsan Rasheed, Maj Khalilur Rehman Awan (retired), Afzal Hayat, Ishtiaq Malik, Naveed and others were also present on this occasion.

JuD: Jamatud Dawa chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed on Friday alleged that the US and India were involved in a recent attack on Kamra airbase and the brutal killings of bus passengers in Mansehra.

“As these two countries are behind these incidents, they want to damage Pakistan’s nuclear programme under a deep-rooted conspiracy,” the JuD amir said at a Jumatul Wida gathering at university ground, Chauburji.
