HYDERABAD, June 28: An unbeaten knock of 153 by opener Mohammad Khalid put Hyderabad in a commanding position against Sanghar on the first day of the PCB Regional Inter-district Under-19 cricket tournament fixture at the Niaz Stadium on Thursday.

Khalid, who struck 25 boundaries, guided the hosts to 240-4 at stumps. Waleed Raza also batted well to score 40 before he was run out. He hit six boundaries. Javed Khan made 34 laced with four fours. Mohammad Anees claimed two for 18.

Earlier, Sanghar, who opted to bat first, were dismissed for 92 with Mohammad Waqas making an unbeaten 32.

Paceman Babar Khan was the wrecker-in-chief with excellent figures of five for 23. Spinners Mohammad Usama and Mohsin Khan claimed 2-26 and 2-12, respectively.—Staff Correspondent
