LAKKI MARWAT, June 27: Police raided a house in Maidikhel village and seized illicit arms here on Wednesday.

Shaheed Asmatullah Khan police station officials claimed that they had recovered a hand grenade, two kalakovs, two Kalashnikovs, three pistols, three shotguns, a rifle and about 2400 bullets. They said that an alleged smuggler identified as Fazal Manan was also arrested from the house and a case registered against him.

Meanwhile, sub-inspector Asad Ali Shah awaiting posting was made station house officer of police station Lakki. He replaced SI Nasrullah Khan, who had been asked to report to police lines.

Additional SHO Dadiwala police station Abdul Saboor was transferred and posted as in-charge of Lakki city police station in place of Abdul Munim who had been posted in Dadiwala police station.

OFFICE-BEARERS: Salim Khan was elected president and Mohammad Bashir general secretary of All Chemists and Druggists Association, Lakki Marwat, for two-year term here on Wednesday.

Other office-bearers include Obaidullah Jan senior vice-president, Mohammad Daud vice-president, Ajab Gul finance secretary and Mohammad Shoaib press secretary.

On this occasion, they pledged to discourage sale of substandard medicines.
