LAHORE, June 11: Three hockey players, namely Shakeel Abbasi, Wasim Ahmad and Mohammad Imran, could not get Europe’s visa on Monday to join the national team there.

Pakistan team is on the tour to play four matches — two against Germany and one each against Belgium and Holland.

A press release issued by the Pakistan Hockey Federation states that the visas were applied before the Netherlands’ embassy in Islamabad but due to shortage of time and other procedural formalities, it did not issue visas to the Pakistani players.

The three will now report to the training camp, which has started from Monday.
