This refers to Gulsher Panhwer’s letter ‘The tale of a library’ (May 18). I totally agree with the point made regarding the important role of libraries in the development of nations. The Akbar Jiskani Memorial Library is serving that purpose but with limited means and deteriorating situation.

Akbar Jiskani library needs immediate attention from all concerned authorities for its renovation work. It took the library fourteen years to take root in Johi and to become the center for knowledge for the youth of Johi. Whatever contribution it is making is a relief.

A great need of support is required so that Akbar Jiskani Library keeps catering to the needs of the students and citizens also.
