NAWABSHAH, May 11: A group of armed men beat up a man, shaved off half of his head and moustaches and kidnapped his two young daughters in Taj Colony on Friday as a punishment for marrying a woman without her relatives’ consent.

Ali Nawaz of Taj Colony told journalists that he had been receiving threats since marrying a divorcee, Naghma Mallah, about a year ago.

Naghma’s cousin and other relatives, he said, persuaded him recently to let her return to her family so that they could get married in a proper manner. But instead they went to court and got the marriage annulled, he said.

On Friday morning, he said, 15 armed men barged into his house, assaulted him, shaved off half of his head and moustaches, looted gold and other valuables and also kidnapped his two daughters, Rida, 12, and Mishal, 7, from his first marriage.

He said he had learnt a bitter lesson and advised people not to marry any woman without the consent of her relatives.

He appealed to police to recover his daughters.

A police official said that Ali Nawaz had filed a complaint and police were working on the case.

TWO Killed: A man stabbed his daughter and a man to death after accusing them of indulging in illicit affair in Peeral Khan Rind village near here on Friday.

Abdullah Rind of Peeral Khan Rind attacked his daughter Ms Sakina, 18, alias Patoli and Abdul Aziz Babur, 20, with a knife, and killed them.

He surrendered himself to police at the taluka police station and confessed that he had killed the two in a rage after having seen them in a compromising position.
