ISLAMABAD, April 28: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday asked the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani to clear his position on the alleged involvement of armed forces in picking up people as the allegation was earning a bad name for Pakistan Army.

Speaking at the protest camp set up by the relatives of ‘missing’ persons outside the National Press Club (NPC) here, the PTI leader also appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhary to address the issue as relatives of the missing people had trust in the judiciary.

Imran Khan said the same issue was crippling peace in Balochistan where bodies of people picked up from their homes had been found abandoned which resulted in giving birth to hatred against the state.

He said: “Witnessing the miserable condition in which the relatives are placed, one feels ashamed claiming to be the citizen of this country.”

He said the rulers were fighting others’ war for the sake of extending their rule and were bombing innocent people and added “killing of innocent children is being described as collateral damage.”
