QUETTA, April 16: The Levies Force freed a kidnapped man after an operation in Dalbandin and arrested four alleged captors on Monday evening.

Attaullah Baranzai was reportedly kidnapped for ransom from the Mal area in the afternoon and taken to the Sufi Jan area of Dalbandin.

A team of Levies Force headed by Chagai Deputy Commissioner Dr Tufail Baloch raided a house where Mr Baranzai had been kept.

After an exchange of fire with the alleged kidnappers, the FC personnel freed the hostage and arrested Abdul Khaliq, Amir Hamza, Mohammad and Abdul Basit.

The ringleader escaped.

The deputy commissioner said that a large quantity of arms and ammunition, including AK-47 rifles, rocket launchers and an RPG-gun, were seized at the house.
