PESHAWAR: Opposing the government's move to resume Nato supplies, the Defence of Pakistan Council (DPC) chairman Maulana Samiul Haq on Sunday said that the US must stop drone attacks on Pakistani soil and also cease its interference in Pakistan’s internal affairs, DawnNews reported.

Addressing the participants of the Difa-i-Pakistan rally at Peshawar's Ring Road, the DPC chairman said that the US and its allies were conspiring to weaken Pakistan and added that India was lending its full support to the US in this regard.

He added that Pakistan needed to be freed from the influence of the US and its allies and demanded severance of all ties with the United States of America.

Moreover, Haq said that the imposition of an Islamic system in Pakistan was inevitable and that the liberation of Afghanistan from the US and its allies would be akin to freedom for Pakistan.

Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, Gen(r) Hameed Gul, Ahl-i-Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) leader Maulana Mohammad Ahmed Ludhianvi and others addressed the rally and said that Pakistan was facing a "crusade" against all Muslims who he said would have to unite together.
