LAHORE, March 23: Governor Latif Khosa on Friday conferred civil awards on 47 persons at the Governor’s House.

Nine of them got Sitara-i-Imtiaz, 24 Pride of Performance and 14 Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.

Those who got Sitara-i-Imtiaz included Agriculture University Faisalabad Vice-Chancellor Prof Iqrar Ahmed Khan, Government College University Lahore Prof Hasan Amir, Quad-i-Azam University Islamabad Prof Dr Abdul Hamid, Mashkoor Husain Yad (literature), Prof Saeed Akhtar (art), Qasim Zia (sports), Prof Mehdi Hasan (literature) and Qavi Khan (film).

Those conferred upon pride of performance included Dr Waqas Masood, Dr Mahboobur Rehman, Dr Tauseef Mohayuddin, Prof Sharif Tahir, Nawazish Ali Hajuri, Mohsin Raza Gilani, Sabah Hamid, Prof Rahat Navid Masood, Azhar Javed (late), Tariq Khurshid Malik, Khwaja Muhammad Zikariya and Test Cricketer Muhammad Yousuf.

Those conferred upon Tamgha-i-Imtiaz included Dr Abdul Qayyum, Dr Qasar Mahmood, Prof Arshad Salim Bhatti, Dr Sohail Nadim, Mansoor Ali Malangi, Akhtar Husain Malangi, Sabar Husain, SA Rehman, Mansoor Niazi, Qazi Javed, Hafizullah Khan, Shakir Husain Shakir, Dr Ahmed Bhaktiar, Dr Sohail Ahmed (late), Saadullah Khan, Riaz Shahid, Rashid Ahmed Khan, Sardar Khan Niazi, Kiran Khan, Abdur Razzak (blind cricketer), Nazir Ahmed Wattoo, Dr Ahmed Raza, Salim Hasan Bhatti, Asad Abbas Awan, Prof Javed Akram and Dr Shafiq Anwar.
