QUETTA, March 21: Two police constables were gunned down in the Jinnah town area of the city on Wednesday.

A spokesman for the outlawed Baloch Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the killing.

Police sources said constables Naimatullah and Liaquat Ali were manning a checkpost in the area when gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire, seriously injuring the policemen.

The two personnel died while being taken to a hospital.

“The policemen were checking suspected vehicles in the Jinnah town area when they were attacked by armed men,” police sources said.
