SUKKUR, Jan 27: Body of an alleged bandit who reportedly sustained injuries two days ago during an encounter with Ghotki police, was found from a sugarcane field near Channa bus stop on Friday.

It was shifted to the Civil Hospital Ghotki for post-mortem.

The Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ayaz Memon, told reporters that an encounter took place between police and three bandits near Channa Bus Stop area two days ago.

Two of them, Riaz Seelro and Sultan Seelro were arrested while the third one Ubedullah Seelro, despite sustaining injuries, escaped.

According to him, the dead bandit was wanted by Sukkur and Ghotki police in different cases of heinous crimes including lootings, snatching, dacoities, highway robberies and kidnappings. He carried a head money of Rs500,000, the police official said.

However, brother of Ubedullah, Rasool Bux Seelro, told journalists on phone that his brother had gone to Ghotki for shopping but was arrested and later shot dead in a fake encounter.
