LAHORE, Dec 28: An 18-year-old youth was killed by a shot fired by his father near Baggrian Bazaar in Green Town on Wednesday.

Green Town Investigation In-charge Munir Ahmad said the incident took place at the wedding of Rohil Masih at Multan Chungi. He said John’s father Bismal Tahir resorted to aerial firing to celebrate the occasion and a bullet hit his own son.

John was shifted to Jinnah Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

He said Bismal was taken into custody and a case had been registered against him under Sections 322 and 337 H-II of the Pakistan Penal Code.

FOUND STRANGLED: A 13-year-old maid died of suffocation at her master’s house in NESPAK Housing Society on Wednesday, Sattokatla police quoting Umor, the master, said.

Police have shifted the body to morgue to ascertain the exact cause of the death.

Quoting Umor, police said his maid Sumaira of Gujranwala was apparently playing the swing when she became entangled with the piece of cloth and died of suffocation.

Police said they had collected evidence from the house and launched an investigation into the death.

Woman hurt: Robbers injured a woman and looted cash and valuables worth Rs0.5 million from a house in Serwer Road police limits on Wednesday.

Three robbers barged into the house of Asifa, held family members at gunpoint and collected cash, jewellery and valuables from there.

They injured the woman with the butt of gun when she offered resistance and fled the scene.

The injured woman was provided medical treatment at a hospital. Police have registered a case.
