SUKKUR, Nov 20: Two doctors associated with the Dow University of Health Sciences were kidnapped from Jacobabad on Sunday, police said.

Jacobabad SSP Zafarullah Dharejo told journalists that Professor Imtiaz Waggan and Assistant Professor Azhar Ali Shah had come to Jacobabad from Karachi on Saturday to meet some friends. They left for Sukkur on Sunday morning in a car and were to deliver lectures to students of Ghulam Mohammad Medical College Sukkur on Monday. However, they did not reach Sukkur and their car was found abandoned near Sabzi Mandi in Jacobabad which suggested that they had been kidnapped, the SSP said.

He said that teams had been formed to look for the doctors and expressed the hope that they would be recovered in 48 hours.

No case was registered till late Sunday evening.
