KOHAT, Oct 13: Unidentified armed dacoits killed the owner of a house on resistance in the densely populated area of Banni Khel in the city in the wee hour of Thursday.

The family members of the deceased, Mohuddin, said he was working on the ground floor of his house around 2am when he heard some noise on the roof. He went up and found dacoits and started scuffling with them. His wife heard her husband as saying that he had identified the robbers after which she heard three gunshots.

A son of the Mohuddin went up and found his father in a pool of blood. He received there bullets in the chest and succumbed to injuries while on way to hospital.

The son, Abdul Haseeb, registered a murder case in the city police station.

The police claimed they had found a lead and identified the accused and his accomplices.

JUSTICE DELIVERY: Speaking at a function organised by the newly elected cabinet of the district bar association, the deputy inspector general of police, Kohat region said justice could be attained with collective efforts and coordination among bench, bar, prosecution and intelligence agencies. He said lawyers should work hard because they could do a lot for the society which depended on delivery of justice.

The district and sessions judge, Kohat, district police officer and lawyers participated in the function.
