CHAKWAL, Oct 9: A man assassinated his father over land dispute in Tatral village here on Sunday.

According to villagers and local police, Masood, 24, had been demanding his share of land from his father, Sodagar Khan but he was not ready to transfer land to his children.

Mithu, who was living with one of his sisters, had already threatened his father to kill him, said a villager.

On Sunday noon Sodagar Khan went to main city for shopping. When he was returning on his bike, his son hiding under a bridge near the village opened fire on him. As he fell down from his bike, the culprit attacked him with a knife killing him at the spot. Hearing the gunshots, the villagers rushed there and informed Saddar police. — Correspondent
