ISLAMABAD, Sept 27: Mansoor Zaman and Farhan Mahboob ensured their places in the final of the Chief of Air Staff International Squash Championship after winning their semi-finals at the Mushaf Squash Complex on Tuesday.

In the first semi-final, Mansoor hammered Waqar Mahboob 3-2 after a tough contest.

Right from the first game, Mansoor played aggressive squash, giving no room to Waqar, winning it 11-8.

Waqar created a stir in the second and third games, winning them 11-9 and 11-8.

Mansoor edged past Waqar 11-5 and 11-7 in the last two games to win the match.

In the second and crucial semi-final, Farhan crushed Yasir Butt 3-1, fading his hopes of winning any major national title.

The left-handed Farhan won the first game 11-6 but lost the second one 8-11.

Farhan commanded the last two games because of his experience and better stamina, finishing the last two games at 11-5 and 11-9.

The final will be played on Wednesday.

Quarter-finals: Farhan Mahboob bt Mohammad Shah Nawaz 11-8, 11-3, 11-5; Yasir Butt bt Nasir Iqbal 11-7, 11-7, 11-5; Mansoor Zaman bt Waqas Mahboob 7-11, 11-6, 12-14, 11-8, 12-10; Waqar Mahboob bt Danish Atlas 6-11, 8-11, 13-11, 12-10, 11-8.
