LAHORE, Sept 26: Lahore Development Authority Director-General Abdul Jabbar Shaheen on Monday suspended three more senior officials for their alleged negligence in Jauhar Town’s plaza demolition incident and nominated them in the FIR registered on Sunday (Sept 25).
According to a press release, the DG has also entrusted charge of the suspended officials -- chief engineer Saeed Akhtar, director (town planning) Khalid Mahmood and deputy-director (building) Iqbal Javaid -- to director (Tepa) Israr Saeed, director (land development) Liaquat Ali Randhawa and deputy-director (estate management) Mian Nadeem, respectively.
Earlier, the DG had suspended four LDA officials -- director (building) Ahmad Nawaz, director (electric and mechanical engineering department) Abdul Razzaq, deputy-director (town planning) Azhar Ali and assistant director (town planning) Afraz Akhtar -- in plaza demolition incident that claimed lives of four construction workers and injuries to 23 others.
