ISLAMABAD, Aug 2: The Pakistan Stone Development Company (PASDEC) is launching a series of marble mosaic and inlay training sessions to promote women skill development and entrepreneurship culture in the country.

At the inauguration of the gender training programme here on Tuesday, Chief Executive Officer PASDEC Ihsanullah Khan said the three-month training sessions would formally start next month in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO). “PASDEC intends to train more than 60 artisans to develop the entrepreneurial culture in Pakistan. This culture will create the sense of self-employment and elevate poverty in the remote areas of the country,” he said.

The training programme will strengthen gender involvement in marble industry by providing skilled workforce for production of high quality value-added product of mosaic, handicraft and inlay so that enterprises and individuals of this sector are more prepared to catch all opportunities, he added.
