LAHORE, June 28: The Muslim Town police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested four members of an alleged gang involved in snatching motorcycles and committing robberies in different districts, including Lahore, and seized from them Rs250,000 in cash, three unlicenced pistols and three stolen motorcycles.

Iqbal Town Operations SP Muntazir Mehdi formed a team that traced the whereabouts of the alleged gangsters and caught ringleader Zahid Imran, of Mandi Bahauddin, Asif, of Kasur, Riaz, of Okara, and Javed Iqbal, of Sargodha, from a city area.

The suspects were wanted in seven different cases by the city police and also wanted by the police of other districts. The SP also directed the staff to hand over the motorcycles to their owners.

SHAHDARA: The Shahdara police also claimed to have arrested five members of a gang involved in house and highway robberies and seized from them unlicenced weapons.

City Operations SP Dr Shahzad Asif formed a team that arrested proclaimed offender Mehboob, alias Booba, and his four accomplices identified as Imran, Ejaz, Qaiser and Qasim Ali.

The suspects admitted to committing 26 dacoities and robberies in different parts of the city and Sheikhupura district.
