LAHORE: A banking court in Lahore on Saturday indicted Pakistan Muslim League - Quaid (PML-Q) leader Moonis Elahi in the National Insurance Corporation Limited (NICL) scam, DawnNews reported.

FIA authorities presented Moonis for the hearing in the court of Banking Offence Special Judge Malik Abdul Rasheed.

Moonis’ counsels requested the court to provide them with copies of the witnesses' statements under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).

The court then indicted Moonis and called prosecution witnesses to appear for the upcoming hearing of the case.

Moonis has been accused of having involvement in a transaction of Rs220 million with Mohsin Habib Warraich, the main accused in the Rs3.3 billion NICL scam.
