KARACHI, June 3: A young man was found shot dead in the Malir area on Friday, police said.

They said that the body of a young man, later identified as 23-year-old Faisal Brohi, was found in Gulshan-i-Rafi near Jami Millia Degree College within the remit of the Al-Falah police station.

“The body remained unidentified for several hours and the police shifted it to the Edhi morgue after the required medico-legal formalities at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre,” said an official at the Al-Falah police station. “Later, the body was identified as of Mr Brohi by his family, which is settled in Malir. They said that the victim had gone missing since Thursday evening and they had suspicions that some of his friends had kidnapped and killed him.”

He said that the victim, who was hit by two bullets from a very close range, left his home with two friends on Thursday evening. Both friends could not be traced out after he went missing and their mysterious disappearance strengthened the family doubts, he added.

“An FIR of the case is not yet lodged and we are waiting for the victim’s family which is in a state of shock and also busy in the funeral,” he added.
