SWABI, May 8: Four people, including a woman and young boy, were killed and six others were injured in a road accident, late on Saturday night, said police on Sunday.

A pick-up (3636-Peshawar) on its way to Mardan overturned at Adina bridge on Swabi-Mardan road after driver lost control over the steering due to over-speed.

The injured were taken to the nearby hospital in Kalu Khan. Three people were killed on the spot while the fourth one succumbed to injuries while on way to hospital.

The dead were identified as nine-year-old Mohammad Fayyaz and his father Mohammad Sadiq, Shahmshad Begum and Saqib Shah. The injured were: Sanaullah Khan, Ghaniur Rehman, Mohammad Kashif and others.

PROTEST:

The residents of Shahmansoor on Sunday held a protest demonstration against appointment of ANP, PPP-affiliated persons on the posts of peons in the Bacha Khan Medical Complex and ignoring those who had given land for the hospital. The people gathered at Shahmansoor and marched to the hospital while chanting slogans against the ANP government and the local parliamentarians for not paying heed to their demands.—Correspondent
