DERA GHAZI KHAN, April 13: Villagers of Mauza Nawan staged a demonstration on Wednesday against survey teams of the Benazir Income Support Programme for allegedly assembling villagers at one place instead of going door-to-door to assess the poverty of families. Villager Khuda Bakhsh and his family said survey teams were not conducting the door-to-door survey and had thus ignored a lot of poor families.

They demanded immediate action against the surveyors who were allegedly involved in facilitating activists of PML-Q or the Leghari group and the PML-N.

The people in Gaddai, Shah Saddar Din, Dera Ghazi Khan and Taunsa Sharif had already protested against the survey teams for the same reason.

BISP authorities are conducting the survey through different NGOs.

DEMO: Students and teachers of the University of Education on Wednesday demonstrated against the grabbers for occupying the land of the university despite the submission of several applications to the district police.
