KARACHI, April 5: SZABIST, Hamdard University and Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) won their matches on the second day of the 9th AKU Inter-University Football Tournament at the AKU Football Ground here on Tuesday.

SZABIST beat Institute of Business Management (IoBM) 3-1.

The goals for the winners came through Yawar Nabi (14th min), Waleed Rashid (38th min) and Ali Ahsan (40th min).

IoBM's lone goal was scored by Irfan Junejo (21st min).

In the second match, Hamdard University beat Baqai Medical University (BMU) also by 3-1.

Kaleemullah of BMU gave his side the lead in the fourth minute but then they were left behind by Hamdard thanks to two goals from Mohammad Bilal (20th and 22nd mins) and one by Shehzad Afzal (50th min).

Finally, BUITEMS thrashed IBA 6-1.

Zahoor Shah (15th and 40th mins) scored two while Waseemuddin (10th min), Umer Farooq (43rd min), Jamshed-ur-Rehman (52nd min) and Shahabuddin (53rd min) added one each for the winners.

Asadullah Naqvi (43rd min) got the consolation goal for the losing side.

Wednesday's fixtures: BMU v LNMC; ZU v PNEC-NUST; AKU v BUITEMS.
