LAHORE, March 29: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claimed on Tuesday to have arrested a passenger trying to board a Canada-bound flight on doctored documents.According to an FIA spokesman, Danish Javed, arrested at Allama Iqbal International Airport, had a passport with changed photograph and having a fake permanent resident card of Canada. “Javed is being interrogated to glean information about the people involved in the nefarious business,” the spokesman said.

Killed: A father of four was shot dead by three armed men over a money dispute in Baghbanpura on Tuesday.

Reports said Faqeer Husain of Mahmood Booti, Bund Road, developed a money dispute with Abdul Ghaffar.

Quoting the family, the police said Ghaffar along with two accomplices intercepted Husain in the street and shot at and injured him critically. He died while being taken to hospital. The assailants fled the scene.

The police shifted the body to the city morgue for autopsy and registered a case against the accused on the complaint of deceased’s father Arif Husain.

Robbery: Two robbers deprived a family of gold jewellery in Model Town on Tuesday.

Tahir Siddique, a computer programmer at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology, was returning home with his family by a car when two motorcyclists stopped them on Model Town Link Road. They snatched jewellery from his wife and fled.

Siddique said jewellery was worth Rs350,000.
