LARKANA, Oct 12: The PPP’s candidate from PS-35 (Larkana-I), Ghulam Serwar Siyal on Saturday rejected the results and accused his rival, Altaf Hussain Unnar, of rigging polls.

Calling for re-polling in his constituency, Siyal said that Unnar had denied his polling agent access to the Aliabad polling station.

He added that Unnar had himself stamped ballot papers.

According to a press statement, Siyal had informed the district returning officer about the situation.

The district returning officer had, through the district police officer, called for a report.

However, the statement added, the SHO Bakrani had reported “smooth polling” within three minutes of the election official’s query.

Siyal also accused his rival of physically throwing his polling agent out of the Baqapur polling station, adding that Unnar had used fake identity cards on a massive scale.

He also alleged that his polling agents were also not allowed into the following polling stations: Mullan Abro, Baghat, Bakrani, Ghazi Mashori, Bakrani Bungalow, Tatri, Fatehpur Chakiro, Yaro Lakhir, Wakiro, Sehar village, Sehar station and Nauabad.

He said he possessed many such bogus Identity cards.

Two persons, according to the press statement, were injured in firing at Wadho Lashari polling station. He said both of them — Qurban Lashari and Liaquat Lashari — were currently being treated at the Chandka Medical College Teaching Hospital.

He also accused the police and the presiding officers of stamping the voters’ slips.
