LANDI KOTAL, March 19: Unidentified militants blew up another bridge in Akkakhel area of Bara tehsil in Khyber Agency on Saturday. Sources said that militants planted explosives at the bridge. The explosives went off with a big bang and destroying the bridge, they added. About eight bridges have been blown up in Bara during the past two weeks.

Meanwhile, the residents of Alamgudar area found the body of a young man on Saturday. The deceased was kidnapped by unidentified persons few days ago. Motive behind the killing could not be known immediately.

In another incident, unidentified gunmen kidnapped a tribesman from Nekikhel area while Khasadar force recovered an abducted person and arrested his kidnapper.

Officials said that Khasadar force raided the house of Bahadar Sher and recovered Zeenat Shah. The khasadars also arrested a member of a kidnapers’ gang hailing from Orakzai Agency.

Officials said the house of Zeenat Shah would be demolished in accordance with collective territorial responsibility clause of FCR.

The Khasadar force arrested nine other persons in Jamrud and Torkham. Officials said that they also recovered arms and ammunition from some of the detained persons, while some were held for possessing fake travelling documents.

A young man identified as Imran Khan was electrocuted in Shalobar area of Bara on Saturday.

PROTEST: The tribal elders in Jamrud took out a protest rally to register their anger against the killing of tribesmen in a drone attack in North Waziristan.

They threatened to stop all supplies to Nato forces in Afghanistan via the Torkham border if killing of innocent tribesmen by drones was not stopped forthwith.

The tribesmen asked the US government not to test their patience. They said that peaceful tribesmen were losing their patience owing to increasing drone attacks.

“The tribesmen will not hesitate in taking direct action if such cruel acts are not stopped,” they added.
