KARACHI, March 12: Two young friends were shot dead in the Garden area on Saturday, officials said. They said armed men on a motorbike emerged at the Almari Wali Gali near Shoe Market and one of the riders got off the two-wheelers and fired multiple shots at 22-year-old Natwar and 28-year-old Adnan.

“Both of them sustained bullet wounds and died on the spot,” said an official at the Garden police station.

“The bodies were handed over to the family after medico-legal formalities at the Civil Hospital Karachi. Adnan was the resident of Ranchhore Line and Natwar lived in Hindu Para.”

He said the exact motive behind the firing was not clear but the police had found some evidence that showed that they had a dispute with some people who had a criminal record.

“The victims themselves did not have any criminal record but their circle of friends was dubious. Adnan was a cloth merchant while Natwar was employed with a private organisation,” added the police official.

Youth shot dead in Azizabad A young man was gunned down in Azizabad area on Saturday morning, police said.

They said 26-year-old Noman Memon was targeted by armed motorcyclists near Bantwa Nagar.

“He sustained three bullet wounds in the chest and abdomen,” said an Azizabad police official. “The victim was the resident of the same area and had criminal record for which he faced imprisonment twice.”

He was released on bail a couple of months ago and had also connection with a criminal gang active in the area. The killing appears to be a result of infighting of the criminal gang, added the official.
