LAHORE, March 7: Deputy Inspector General (Operations) Rao Sardar has removed four station house officers from their posts for inefficiency and directed them to report to the Police Lines till further orders.

The action was taken against them in the light of inquiry reports conducted by SSP (Operations) Faisal Ali Rana.

He had recommended action against them for showing poor performance and for their failure in fighting crime in their respective areas.

Those sacked are: Racecourse SHO Temur Malik, Gujjarpura SHO Zafar Iqbal, Lytton Road SHO Atif Miraj and Qila Gujjar Singh SHO Majid Bashir.

Faisal Ali Rana told Dawn the departmental performance of these SHOs had been judged through the existing monitoring system. They had failed to achieve targets set by the department to control crime, he said.

Meanwhile, the DIG issued transfer and posting orders of SHOs of several other police stations.

Inspector Khalid Javed has been transferred and posted from Police Lines to Old Anarkali SHO vice Waseem Akhtar who has been transferred and posted as Racecourse SHO.

Inspector Zulfiqar Ali has been transferred from the SSP office and posted as Ghalib Market SHO against an existing post.

The police officials, awaiting postings, including Ehsan Ashraf Butt, Saleemullah and Rizwan Nawaz, have been posted as Nishtar Colony, Gujjarpura and Mozang SHOs, respectively.

Similarly, Khalid Farooq has been transferred from Mozang and posted as Lytton Road SHO, Amjad Husain from Bhati Gate SHO to Shadman, Khursheed Ahmad from Manga Mandi SHO to Liaquatabad, Azhar Ishaq from Ghalib Market SHO to Garden Town, Muhammad Shahid from North Cantonment SHO to Qila Gujjar Singh and Imran Yusuf has been transferred from Batapur and posted as Nawankot SHO.
