KARACHI, March 7: The Inter-varsity Football (Boys) Championship comprising 15 university teams from all over Karachi kicked off with seven matches decided at the Karachi University Football Ground and the NED University Football Ground here on Monday.

The first four matches were played in Pool ‘A’ at the Karachi University Football Ground.

Govt College University Faisalabad bt Islamia University Bahawalpur 5-0; NED University bt Agriculture University Faisalabad 2-1; Peshawar University bt Karachi University 1-0; International Islamic University bt Sargodha University 2-0.

The remaining three matches were played in Pool ‘B’ at the NED University Football Ground.

Govt College University Lahore bt Agriculture University Tandojam 1-0; Balochistan University bt Mehran University 8-2; Comsats bt Islamia University Peshawar 2-0.

Tuesday’s fixtures:

Pool ‘B’ — Govt College University Lahore v Punjab University (9.30am); Comsats v Balochistan University (11.00am). Both matches to be played at KU Football Ground.

Pool ‘A’ — Govt College University Faisalabad v International Islamic University (9.30am); Peshawar University v NED University (11.30am). Both matches to be played at NED Football Ground.
