ISLAMABAD, March 5: During a search operation against the outlaws, 33 suspects were arrested on Saturday by the capital police from different areas of the city and illegal weapons and drugs were recovered from their possession, a police spokesman said.

He said that the operation was conducted on the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police Tahir Alam Khan to enhance security in the city. He said that strict checking had also been ordered by the SSP at the exit and entry points.

It has also been directed to all the SHOs to ensure vigilance and strict patrolling in their respective jurisdictions and conduct search operation against the suspected elements.

In response to the directions, the police teams under the supervision of DSP (Saddar) Malik Tahir Mehmud and comprising SHO Golra Inspector Qasim Niazi, SHO Tarnol Sub-Inspector Fazul ur Rehman as well as other police officials conducted search operations at under construction plazas and different locations in the area of Fateh Jang road, village Dore, Kashmir Housing Society, Chungi No.26, G-15, Mera Badia and arrested 25 suspects.

Similarly, Aabpara and Sabzi Manid police arrested five suspects while Bhara Kau, Tarnol and Golra police arrested two persons and recovered two 30-bore pistols and 550 gram hashish from their possession.

Meanwhile, Koral police nabbed a Nigerian national identified as John Obioran who could not produce documents for his stay in Pakistan.
