GHALANAI, March 1: Six persons, including a woman, were killed and several others injured in separate incidents in Federally Administered Tribal Areas on Tuesday, sources said.

They said that three persons were killed and one was injured in two separate landmine blasts in tehsil Safi of Mohmand Agency.

A roadside landmine planted by suspected militants in Ghalingar area of tehsil Safi went off with a bang, killing two tribesmen and injuring another, they added.

The killed were identified as Turi and Sher Ali Jan. The injured tribesman, Rasool Khan, was shifted to Peshawar for treatment.

In the second incident, Jaffar Khan was killed when he stepped on a landmine planted by suspected militants in Mansor Kor area of tehsil Safi in Mohmand Agency.

No group has claimed responsibility for the incidents.

In Shalobar area of Bara tehsil in Khyber Agency, a woman was killed when security forces opened indiscriminate firing after an attack on their convoy on Tuesday.

Sources said that the woman was killed on the spot when a bullet, fired by security forces, hit her.

In the same locality, a tribesman Sherin Khan died of heart attack when security forces took shelter in his house after they came under fire from militants.

Meanwhile, unidentified armed persons kidnapped four khasadars from Ali Masjid area of Khyber Agency on Monday night.

Sources said that khasadars Samad Khan, Khewa Khan, Khan Sher and Ibad Gul were abducted from Ghalanai checkpost. No body has claimed responsibility for the incident.

Militants also beheaded Aqal Mohammad in Bara for his alleged links with drone attacks in Tirah valley. Sources said that locals found the head of Aqal Mohammad in Qambarkhel area while his torso was dumped at Nari Baba area.

Sources said that the diseased was blamed for his involvement in January drone attacks in Tirah. At least 26 militants, including an important Taliban commander from Swat, were killed in the three consecutive drone attacks.

Meanwhile, a labourer identified as Gul Yahat, a resident of Shangla district, was killed and three others sustained injuries in a coalmine explosion in Doli area of Orakzai tribal region on Tuesday.

The blast occurred when labourers were busy in their routine work at the coalmine. The coalmine rescue team reached the site and retrieved the body and injured. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital.
