QUETTA, Feb 6: Fourteen people, among them a policeman and two children, were injured when a bomb exploded near a mosque in the industrial town of Hub on Sunday. Sources said that some people had planted the bomb on a road close to the main mosque of the town, which went off when people were preparing for prayers.

Lasbela Deputy Commissioner Asfandyar Khan said it was a locally-made device.

He said three seriously injured men, identified as Sa'adur Rehman, Asad and Mohammad Hussain, were taken to Karachi.

The blast damaged windowpanes of the mosque, Tehsildar's office and nearby houses. Police launched a search operation in the town after the incident and arrested some suspects for questioning.
