MANSEHRA, Jan 30: Hundreds of people took to the streets on Sunday after police arrested two brothers who had allegedly stolen copies of the holy Quran and buried them in the courtyard of their house.

Shahnawaz, one of the brothers, allegedly stole some copies of holy Quran from a mosque on Abbottabad Road and a man followed him to his home. After the incident, a large number of people gathered outside the house and called police.

During search, over 100 copies of the holy Quran wrapped in cloth and plastic bags were found buried in the veranda. Police arrested Shahnawaz and his brother Ilyas.

A large number of people demanding severe punishment to the brothers blocked traffic between Abbottabad and Mansehra for some time.
