KARACHI, Jan 19: Five more seeded players suffered shock defeats as walkovers continued in the PARCO third Roshan Khan junior open squash championship at the PN Roshan-Jahangir squash complex on Wednesday.

All in all at least 16 seeded players saw their elimination by the end of penultimate day in the event.

Fresh from his triumph over fourth seed Muqaddar Shah in quarter-final, Naimatullah Khan stunned top seed Ahmed Amin 11-2, 11-9, 11-9 in 24 minutes to sail into boys’ under-19 final.

He is drawn to face another outsider Salman Mohib who accounted for third seed Noor Ali Shah 11-4, 12-10, 11-0.

Another outsider Tayyab Aslam struggled for 40-minutes while removing top seed Faraz Khan 11-5, 11-7, 17-19, 11-7 to cruise into boys’ under-17 final.

In the two more upsets, Israr Ahmed ousted fourth seed Mohammad Arif 11-3, 11-13, 11-4, 11-3 in the boys’ under-15 while Ali Karamat sent top seed Mehran Javed packing in boys’ under-11 (7-11, 11-7, 11-9, 11-8).

Meanwhile, the girls’ under-15 final will be an all-Sindh affair as Ayesha Zaffar and her sibling Faiza have qualified for the title battle.
