KARACHI: Rangers and police on Thursday launched a joint search operation in Pehlwan Goth and arrested several persons and recovered illegal weapons from their possession. At least five activists of a political party had been killed in the area during last three days in the recent wake of target killings in Karachi.

The tension gripped the area on third consecutive day on Thursday as the firing incidents occurred in the locality in morning. The rangers and police entered Pehlwan Goth and arrested some suspects and recovered arms.
