Two young and upcoming designers, Zaheer Abbas and Zainab Sajid, showcased small capsule ensembles from their prêt collections. The venue, which has a fixed in-house ramp for such purposes, quickly filled with more members of the press than the fashion fraternity and in the current hot and humid summer season, standing in such close proximity to the other attendees was a tad bit uncomfortable. Thankfully the show, when it started, was quick and over soon.

Zaheer Abbas emerged as the new designer to watch out for in Fashion Pakistan Week-2 held earlier this year with his heavily-pleated, blue and green, bell-detailed collection. His current collation was simple, without his signature pleats or choice of colour and consisted of pale gold flared and slightly pleated shirts with narrow, straight golden pajamas. There were long, simple pale gold dresses in his collection as well. He closed his show with four outfits from his fashion week collection but this time paired with jamawar pants. The result, however, was not as appealing as the designer might have hoped it would be.

From a commercial perspective, Zainab Sajid can be considered as a designer with potential for success, however, from an artistic perspective, she lacks coherence, a clear direction or even a signature style in her designs. Her shirts had long, billowing silhouettes were constructed in several layers that including plain white, animal prints, and embroidered sections. There was a heavy dose of detailing in Zainab Sajid's collection which was a stark difference from the minimalism in Zaheer Abbas's collection. There wasn't any one singular theme holding the collection together except maybe the sections of black and white in the first half of the collection. The second half was dominated by eggplant purple and green with a heavy dose of embroidery.

The evening concluded with the designers taking their final bow on stage with stylist Saima who had done the hair and make-up for the evening.
