CHARSADDA, Aug 24: Many politicians filed nomination papers here on Saturday to contest elections from the two National Assembly and six provincial assembly seats of Charsadda.

Asfandyar Wali Khan, the central president of Awami National Party (ANP), arrived in a big motorcade at the district and sessions court Charsadda and filed his nomination papers for NA-7 Charsadda-1.   Abdullah Jan Khan, district president of PPP, also filed papers for NA-7 Charsadda-1, while Maulana Gauhar Shah, district Amir of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam and a joint candidate of People’s Party (Sherpao), Pakistan Muslim League (QA) and Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, also filed his nomination papers for the same constituency.

Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, Chairman of his own faction of the PPP, arrived from Sherpao in a big procession and filed his nomination papers for NA-8 Charsadda-2, while his rival candidate from the ANP had not filed his papers till the filing of this report.

From PF-17, Charsadda-1, Arshad Khan, a joint candidate of PPP (Sherpao), MMA and PML (QA), filed his nomination papers. His opponent Hasham Khan of ANP also filed his papers.

For PF-18 Charsadda-2, Saeed Khan, the son of former senator and federal minister Nisar Mohammad Khan, who is a joint candidate of the tripartite alliance filed his nomination papers.
