HYDERABAD, May 20 The brother of former vice chairman of taluka council Tando Allahyar was gunned down by unidentified persons on Wednesday night within the jurisdiction of Umar Sand police station while his driver was injured.

The deceased is identified as Abdul Wahid Thebo, brother of former taluka council Tando Allahyar chairman Abdul Jabbar Thebo. The incident took place near the shrine of Mohabat Shah Bukhari. It was the second incident in which bandits struck in Tando Allahyar during the last 48 hours. The gunmen took away his jeep which was later found abandoned in Pyaro Loond police station limits.

Earlier on Tuesday night, they gunned down two policemen, ASI Sher Mohammad and police constable Maula Bux Sahto in the jurisdiction of Chambar police station when they challenged dacoits on road. A case was lodged in this regard.

However, no FIR was so far lodged regarding Thebo's killing. According to DPO Munir Khoro, Thebo's murder was offshoot of a personal enmity while local journalists said that landowners are receiving chits from dacoits, seeking protection money ever-since advent of mango season. The deceased had also received such a chit. Harassment prevailed among those landlords who have mango orchards.
