QUETTA An oil tanker carrying fuel for Nato forces in Afghanistan was damaged in Chaman on Sunday.

Sources said a man hurled a grenade at the tanker near Customs House in Chaman, badly damaging the vehicle.

“A man passing through the area was injured in the attack,” a policeman said.In a separate incident, a vehicle of the Frontier Corps was damaged when a roadside bomb went off on the National Highway.

Sources said suspected militants had planted a bomb in the Mianghundi area. The bomb went off when an FC patrol vehicle passed by it.

Though the vehicle was damaged in the blast, there was no report of casualties.

Meanwhile, police defused a bomb planted near Tablighi Markaz in Khuzdar. “It was a locally made bomb and was meant to target security forces personnel,” a policeman said.
